One of my favorite ways to embrace the season is with a warm cup of homemade chai tea. It’s the perfect combination of spicy and sweet, and sipping on it feels like wrapping yourself in a soft blanket of comfort.

If you're like me and love a little autumn indulgence, you’ll adore this simple chai tea recipe that fills your home with the scents of cinnamon, cloves, and ginger. Best of all? It’s quick and easy to make, so you can enjoy that cozy feeling without the fuss.

Warm & Cozy Chai Tea Recipe

Ingredients:

  • 2 cups water

  • 2 black tea bags (or 2 teaspoons loose-leaf black tea)

  • 1 cinnamon stick

  • 4 cardamom pods, lightly crushed

  • 4 cloves

  • 1 star anise

Instructions:

  1. Boil Water & Add Spices: In a small saucepan, bring 2 cups of water to a boil. Add the cinnamon stick, cardamom pods, cloves, star anise, and sliced ginger to the boiling water.

  2. Simmer: Reduce the heat to a low simmer and let the spices brew for about 10 minutes. This allows the flavors to really infuse and create that signature chai taste.

  3. Add Tea Bags: After 10 minutes, remove the pan from the heat and add the black tea bags (or loose-leaf tea in a strainer). Let the tea steep for 3-5 minutes, depending on how strong you like your tea.

  4. Strain & Sweeten: Strain the tea into your favorite mug, removing the spices and tea bags. Stir in honey or maple syrup if you like your tea a bit sweet.

  5. Warm & Add Milk: In a separate small saucepan, heat the almond milk until warm. Pour it into your tea, stirring to combine.
