I say they are perfect, because anything my husband will snack on, that is healthy, is perfect in my book! Kale is super cheap, even organic, which I do highly recommend buying organic kale. Purchase it locally from a farmer if you can, or better yet, grow it yourself!
Kale is very versatile, and not just a garnish on a dinner plate! I like it in omelets, soups, as wraps, juiced, in smoothies, etc.
Kale chips are super easy to make, super inexpensive and a great snack for those evening or weekend munchies.
So, go grab a large bunch of kale, rinse it and clean it well (I like Young Living's Fruit and Veggie Spray) and let's get started.
Ingredients:
1 Large bunch of Kale
1 Tablespoon of Everything But the Bagel Seasoning (I usually get this from Aldi, Lidl or Trader Joes)
1 Tablespoon of Nutritional Yeast
Trim the stems off the kale after washing and drying and add to a bowl.
Massage the avocado oil into the kale leaves until thoroughly coated.
Sprinkle the seasoning throughout the leaves evenly and then sprinkle the nutritional yeast evenly.
Take the kale leaves and place them side by side on a pan.
*If you want smaller chips, tear into two inch pieces.
Method: Air Fry
Place the kale leaves on the pan or basket for your air fryer and place in the air fryer and cook on 400 degrees for 5 minutes.
Once finished, transfer them to a glass container with a air tight lid for storage.
Or, start snacking on them as soon as they are finished cooking!
